NORTHERN TASMANIAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION Inc.

In 1972 Charles Hall purchased an imported 2 year old Quarter
Horse colt Nevada King Hank and was the earliest active promoter of the breed in
Tasmania. Charles established the “Linden Quarter Horse Stud” at Minstone
Road Scottsdale, and, as one of the founders of the Northern Branch Tasmanian
Quarter Horse Association, was elected President at the inaugural meeting of the
association on 25th May 1977. Other members of that era in the seventies
were Geraldine Hall, Keith and Doreen Dodd, Brian Adams and Lyndon Moore.
Many members have come and gone or moved on to other interests
or just retired from the industry. In 2001 Charles
and Geraldine Hall were honoured with Life Memberships in appreciation of their
many years of devoted service to the club and the Quarter Horse industry.
Sadly in 2004 we lost two of those foundation members in
Charles Hall and Lyndon Moore. Both have left a legacy for family and friends to
be proud of.
The Association usually runs two approved shows
per year and takes it's turn to host the State Championships.
